The moon lord Necholai, a minor god of a small celestial body orbiting the world of Vol, has come down to the Staglands for the winter's solstice festival. Particularly favored by the inhabitants of this small, Necholai often shadows himself in a mortal disguise to join festivities, but this solstice is different. Casting the spells to open his portal home, he finds himself blocked, trapped in the Staglands with few resources, and tenuously grasping his immortality.
With only the aid of an unnerved priest and a temple of untrustworthy acolytes, he is pushed out into the world to find answers with few leads to follow, with whatever luckless souls he can charm or bind into his company. This lord, far from a source of power, disguised as a Spicer, takes the firsts steps into the bitter wilderness of the Peninsula. You are this god.
