The Last Sky
- a Shamanic journey.
You wake up in your room, but something seems off. You are not 32 years old any more. You are an old man. You hear the sound of Shamanic drums in the background, as you continue to fall in and out of consciousness.
The Last Sky weaves three different styles of gameplay as its story unfolds. Room escape style puzzles will challenge your problem solving skills, as you uncover the details of Jake's life and his battle with PTSD. While narrative sequences will allow you to influence Jake's understanding of himself and his journey through chaos. The meditative platforming sequences are meant to evoke a state of deep relaxation. All gameplay styles have their distinct purpose, and the transitions between them are carefully orchestrated, so the experience flows naturally.
Adventure puzzle gameplay
When Jake is working on uncovering the deeper mysteries of his past, the game focuses on puzzles and room escape style gameplay. The player is shown a ¾ angle top perspective of the game area while they explore their environment, collect clues, and discover pieces of Jake's life.
Platforming gameplay is used when Jake has an insightful breakthrough to his problem. When the player completes a puzzle sequence, platforming sequences increase the energy of gameplay and give forward progress to Jake's Shamanic journey. During the platforming gameplay, the player is induced into a flow-like meditative state.
